Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., says he’s “disappointed” that though he was very willing to engage in a nationally televised debate on global warming, the man who challenged him to the debate has now backed out.
Late last year, political activist and former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader challenged Inhofe, the ranking Republican of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and a leading skeptic of allegedly man-made global warming, to debate the topic with climate-change champion Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass.
“For the past decade, I have been reading about your description of the global warming assertions by scientists as ‘one of the greatest hoaxes’ ever perpetrated,” Nader wrote in a Dec. 12 letter to Inhofe. “Clearly you are a man of your convictions on this subject. Just as clearly, Rep. Ed Markey is a man of his convictions on this topic.
“So, what about your first real public debate with a fellow member of Congress on this topic?” Nader suggested. “People I know in Oklahoma say that you do not run away from challenges and challengers to your beliefs.”
Indeed, Inhofe did not run away from the debate challenge, but accepted it almost immediately, offering dates that might fit into his schedule.

Government Employment Report Is 'Fraudulent'

The 8 ½ percent unemployment rate reported today by the U.S. Labor Department is “fraudulent” and misleads Americans into believing the economy is on the mend, Rush Limbaugh said this (yesterday) afternoon on his radio show.
“There’s nothing worth celebrating in this, is my point, and yet, we are being told that it’s party time,” Limbaugh said. “Since when do we celebrate millions of unemployed people?”
The conservative talker said the jobless rate “is still higher than when [President Barack] Obama took office,” and its heralding by the media is “offensive.”
“This assumes that we accept the notion of a systemically high unemployment level,” he said. “The new normal. This is it.”
Limbaugh said the 8 ½ percent rate is not progress, as the administration maintains.
“Five trillion dollars in deficit later, we have an 8 ½ percent unemployment rate,” he said. “That’s it?”
Lack of economic growth is the problem, Limbaugh said.
“The Obama plan [is to] shrink the workforce, expand the welfare state, and then claim economic progress,” he said. “Then, slash the military, take that money, and subsidize public-sector employees who vote reliably Democrat.
That’s the plan in a nutshell, and that’s where we are.”

Global Warming / Climate Change
If you find yourself without facts and concepts to discuss and refute man-caused global warming or “climate change” as nonsense read the following:
Thoughtsjustoffcenter: For those of you that jumped on the band wagon, I hope you have had the time to do some of your own research on the subject of "Global Warming." There is so much information out there that refutes the claims. Al Gore should be a "stand-up" guy and tell everyone that he has been proven wrong. Yet, as a politician, he can't do that because it will make people think of other things that have been wrong, that he's pointed out to us - like he deserves to be President.
Water vapor is a better absorber of heat energy, IR, than CO2 by a factor of seven and has 30 to 100 times as many molecules in air that generate 210 to 700 times as much atmospheric heat as CO2. Water vapor does 99.96% to 99.99% of all atmospheric heating. Why should we stop using our best, most convenient, abundant, lowest cost form of energy to quell 0.01% to 0.04% of atmospheric heating? The Medieval Warming period was the happiest in history. 500 years of peace and prosperity. Why is this nonsense happening?
The control and taxing of carbon and carbon dioxide would give the elected ruling class more money and power than anything in history. For them and the 40% of our people wanting more government so they get “benefits" by “taxing the rich” and "spreading the wealth around," could make it happen! They ignore that such policies have never worked as crushing initiative with taxes means everyone has less. No better example of the failure of socialism can be seen than on our Indian reservations in spite of support or more likely, because of it.
We do not use the politically correct term “native American” as anyone born here is a “native American.” “Indian” is a misnomer while “indigenous” and “aboriginal” are not accurate. English does not have a name for people who walked here from Asia and Europe. Groups from both continents arrived during the last ice age, as Clovis point studies confirm. It was possible to walk or shore navigate, fishing, hunting and gathering all the way. We need a new term like Nomadians, Wanderians or Squatians
Man makes so little CO2 compared to nature cutting our portion would net nothing even if it were a good absorber of IR. Earth produces 166 billion tons (gigatons) of CO2 every year. 160 gigatons come from the decomposition of limestone and dead stuff. Of the six gigatons made by man America makes 20% or 1.2 gigatons, but with it we make 50% of the world’s fuel, fiber, food and manufactured goods. The Green-a-zoids want us to cut our production of CO2 by 80% or by 0.96 gigatons, but of the 166 gigaton total that is only 0.57%, a statistically insignificant portion of the total of which 96% is produced naturally and CO2 is the vapor tiger.

A Great Truth From Antiuity

A study by the Cato Institute covering 30 years confirmed the inverse correlation of metropolitan area taxes, growth in population and employment.
The investigator, Dean Stansel, Associate Professor, Economics, Lutgert College of Business, Florida Gulf Coast University was entitled, “Why Some Cities Are Growing and Others Are Shrinking,” noted, “Although there are numerous factors that can influence the growth of individual economies, one finds a consistent relationship between low taxes and high economic growth in metropolitan areas, states and nations.”
“Over the last three decades, large cities like Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Toledo have seen populations shrink. Cities like Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, Tampa, and Phoenix had populations grow rapidly. The policy differences between high-growth and low-growth areas gives evidence that may help declining cities reverse their fortunes.”
Dr. Stansel examined 100 largest U.S. metro areas and found the ten highest-tax areas, with state and local taxes of 12.4% of personal income had populations growing by 21% from 1980 to 2007, employment increasing 40% and real personal income by 75%.
In the ten lowest-tax areas, taxes with 8.3% of personal income taxes the population grew 64%, employment 108%, and real personal income 157%. In contrasting pairs of cities, Stansel observed in 1980, Austin, Texas, and Syracuse, NewYork, were the same size. Austin’s metro area had 590,000 people and Syracuse’ metro had 643,000 residents. By 2007, Austin’s population had increased by more than 1 million while the Syracuse population remained stagnant.
State and local taxes were 13% of personal income in Syracuse but only 9% in Austin. Stansel concludes: “Keeping tax burdens low appears to be an important ingredient in the recipe for economic prosperity. If high-tax, low-growth metro areas like Detroit, Milwaukee, Buffalo, and Syracuse want to be more like high-growth areas such as Dallas, Tampa, San Antonio, and Austin, they should lower their onerous burden of taxation and bring spending under control.”
Nationally we are at 40% total taxation, without borrowings. The Democrats want to take us to 60% while enlightened electeds know we should be at 18.3% to expand the economy and increase revenues. But, that reduces the number of people dependent on government, hence the power of the Elected Ruling Class, therefore the idea remains unpopular in Washington, DC.
And so again, we have modern statistical proof for what we have long been saying: Low taxes, more growth and now data again confirming the Genesis Curve, a great truth from antiquity. (See “Genesis Curve”)
