I'm going to bite the bullet, too!!!!
President Obama ordered the cabinet to cut $100,000,000.00 ($100 million) from the $3,500,000,000,000.00 ($3.5 trillion) federal
budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have
decided to do the same with my personal budget. I spend about $2,000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc., but it's time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same
ratio (1/35,000) of my total budget. After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2,000 a month, I'm going to have to cut that number by six cents. Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about. I'll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries - six cents worth. 

Did this President actually think no one would do
the math? Please send this to everyone on your list, so people understand how idiotic a $100 million cut is in a $3.5 trillion budget - ludicrous!

We should “Bin Laden” Them

The continue media frenzy with idiots that are mass murderers, or any murderers for that matter, needs to stop.

The individuals that commit these types of crimes should not be remembered in any way. Their bodies, if they decide to kill themselves in the process, should be “Bin Ladened.” I use that term, as what my son said for doing to these type of individuals. What is meant by it? Their bodies should be removed and disposed of quietly. Put them in an unknown, unmarked grave. They should never be remembered.

You want memories? Then they should be of the people that lost their lives, by that some ‘what’s his name’? Anyway we are remembering our children, our children’s friends, our friends, our parents, our brothers, or our sisters – NOT some jerk that must and should be forgotten.

Place plagues on the entrance ways or monuments to the individuals that lost their lives. “The following people, ‘Our Children, Our Friends, lost their lives on this spot due to the senseless act of a selfish person that shall remain unnamed and unknown by others. My they live in the joys of our memories forever!'"

 

We should have wrist bracelets made of the individuals lost – their names and ages inscribed – so that we will never forget them.  The monies raised should go for the counseling of those survivors and into a fund for mental health concerns.

We should never give way to turning the individual that has done such terrible things into away remembering them instead of the victims – as our current media does. For this I say shame on the media!

So my friends – Where do we start this movement? “Ben Laden” the perpetrators’ and remember our loved ones.

Being Green

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.

The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days."

The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."

She was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribblings. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.

But too bad we didn't do the green thing back then.

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.

But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.

But that young lady is right; we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana . In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she's right; we didn't have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

But we didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to tick us off.

 

ThoughtsjustoffCenter: I remember pulling my wagon, when I got older I tied my wagon to my bicycle, to take all the returns to the store. We'd get a penny a beer bottle, and everything we returned was counted towards credit for my parents. I still think it's kind of neat. Don't know why they don't start it up again. It also kept people shopping at the same store. Hum, what a way to increase "traffic" to/through your store.

Asparagus -- Who Knew?

My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned style
asparagus that she pureed and she took 4 tablespoons in
the morning and 4 tablespoons later in the day. She did
this for over a month. She is on chemo pills for Stage 3
lung cancer in the pleural area and her cancer cell
count went from 386 down to 125 as of this past week.
Her oncologist said she does not need to see him for 3
months.

THE ARTICLE: Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a
friend who had cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of
an article, entitled, Asparagus for cancer 'printed in
Cancer News Journal, December 1979. I will share it
here, just as it was shared with me: I am a biochemist,
and have specialized in the relation of diet to health
for over 50 years. Several years ago, I learned of the
discovery of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus
might cure cancer. Since then, I have worked with him on
his project. We have accumulated a number of favorable
case histories. Here are a few examples:

Case No. 1, A man with an almost hopeless case of
Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was
completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the
asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any
signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of
strenuous exercise.

Case No. 2, a successful businessman 68 years old who
suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After
years of medical treatments, including radiation without
improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months,
examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had
disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.

Case No. 3, a man who had lung cancer. On March 5th
1971, he was put on the operating table where they found
lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The
surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On
April 5th he heard about the Asparagus therapy and
immediately started taking it By August, x-ray pictures
revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared..
He is back at his regular business routine.

Case No. 4, a woman who was troubled for a number of
years with skin cancer. She finally developed different
skin cancers which were diagnosed by the acting
specialist as advanced. Within 3 months after starting
on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin
looked fine and no more skin lesions. This woman
reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her
kidney disease, which started in 1949. She had over 10
operations for kidney stones, and was receiving
government disability payments for an inoperable,
terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of
this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.

I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of
material medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the
University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was
used as a popular remedy for kidney stones. He even
referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of
asparagus in dissolving stones. Note the dates!
We would have other case histories but the medical
establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of
the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to
spread this good news and help us to gather a large
number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical
skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy.

For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before
using, and therefore canned asparagus is just as good as
fresh. I have corresponded with the two leading canners
of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that
these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.
Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to
make a puree, and store in the refrigerator. Give the
patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and
evening. Patients usually show some improvement in from
2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a
cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on
present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do
no harm and may be needed in some cases. As a biochemist
I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can
prevent.' Based on this theory, my wife and I have been
using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals. We
take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste
with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my
wife prefers hers cold. For years we have made it a
practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our
regular checkups. The last blood survey, taken by a
medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional
approach to health, showed substantial improvements in
all categories over the last one, and we can attribute
these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink.
As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all
aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a
result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better
with the latest theories about cancer.

Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called
histones, which are believed to be active in controlling
cell growth.. For that reason, I believe asparagus can
be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth
normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and
in acting as a general body tonic. In any event,
regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a
harmless substance. The FDA cannot prevent you from
using it and it may do you much good. It has been
reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that
asparagus is the highest tested food containing
glutathione, which is considered one of the body's most
potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us "Baby Boomers" are retired or getting ready to retire. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America, and America the Beautiful by heart and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation, led by a bunch of College "puppetmasters" who believe in the "Socialist State," who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies."

You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Kool-Aid'. Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.

This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2012 we're going to the polls by the millions.

This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade.”

Yet, I also know there are a lot of "Gray Hairs" that still believe in the "Hope and Change" because they can get something for doing nothing. They are following the "Piper" into a world of destruction and they don't care of the conseqences that will be left for other generations to deal with. They make me angry and sad at the same time. I knew one or two of them - that were my friends. They believe in the principle that their children can clean up their debit and the mess they leave behind. A ROMNEY LANDSLIDE VICTORY ? ? ? 

A Las Vegas "odds maker" gives his reasons for big win by Romney in November. Interesting analysis.

Most political predictions are made by biased pollsters, pundits, or prognosticators who are either rooting for Republicans or Democrats. I am neither.

I am a former Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, and a well-known Vegas odds maker with one of the most accurate records of predicting political races.

But as an odds maker with a pretty remarkable track record of picking political races, I play no favorites. I simply use common sense to call them as I see them. Back in late December I released my New Year's Predictions.

#1. I predicted back then-before a single GOP primary had been held, with Romney trailing for months to almost every GOP competitor from Rick Perry to Herman Cain to Newt - that Romney would easily rout his competition to win the GOP nomination by a landslide.

#2. I also predicted that the Presidential race between Obama and Romney would be very close until election day. But that on election dayRomney would win by a landslide similar to Reagan-Carter in 1980. Understanding history, today I am even more convinced of a resounding Romney victory. 32 years ago at this moment in time, Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in polls.

#3. So why do most pollsters give Obama the edge? First, most pollsters are missing one ingredient- common sense. Here is my gut instinct. Not one American who voted for McCain 4 years ago will switch to Obama. Not one in all the land. But many millions of people who voted for an unknown Obama 4 years ago are angry, disillusioned, turned off, or scared about the future. Voters know Obama now - and that is a bad harbinger.

Now to an analysis of the voting blocks that matter in U.S. politics:

#4. Black voters. Obama has nowhere to go but down among this group. His endorsement of gay marriage has alienated many black church-going Christians. He may get 88% of their vote instead of the 96%he got in 2008. This is not good news for Obama.

#5. Jewish voters. Obama has been weak in his support of Israel. Many Jewish voters and big donors are angry and disappointed.I predict Obama's Jewish support drops from 78% in 2008 to the low 60's. This is not good news for Obama.

#6. Youth voters. Obama's biggest and most enthusiastic believers from 4 years ago have graduated into a job market from hell. Young people are disillusioned,frightened,and broke-a bad combination. The enthusiasm is long gone. Turnout will be much lower among young voters, as will actual voting percentages. This not good news for Obama.

#7. Catholic voters. Obama won a majority of Catholics in 2008. That won't happen again. Out of desperation to please women, Obama went to war with the Catholic Church over contraception. Now he is being sued by the Catholic Church.Majority lost. This is not good news for Obama.

#8. Small Business owners. Because I ran for Vice President last time around, and I'm a small businessman myself, I know literally thousands of small business owners. At least 40% of them in my circle of friends, fans and supporters voted for Obama 4 years ago to give someone different a chance. As I warned them that he would pursue a war on capitalism and demonize anyone who owned a business...that he'd support unionsover the private sector in a big way...that he'd overwhelm the economy with spending and debt. My friends didn't listen. Four years later, I can't find one person in my circle of small business owner friends voting for Obama, Not one. This is not good news for Obama.

#9. Blue collar working class whites. Do I need to say a thing? White working class voters are about as happy with Obama as Boston Red Sox fans feel about the New York Yankees. This is not good news for Obama.

#10. Suburban moms. The issue isn't contraception, it's having a job to pay for contraception. Obama's economy frightens these moms. They are worried about putting food on the table. They fear for their children's future. This is not good news for Obama.

#11. Military Veterans. McCain won this group by 10 points. Romney is winning by 24 points. The more our military vets got to see of Obama, the more they disliked him. This is not good news for Obama.

Add it up.

Is there one major group where Obama has gained since 2008? Will anyone in America wake up on election day saying,

I didn't vote for Obama 4 years ago, but he's done such a fantastic job, I can't wait to vote for him today.

Does anyone feel that a vote for Obama makes their job more secure? Forget the polls. My gut instincts as a Vegas odds maker and common sense small businessman tell me this will be a historic landslide and a world-class repudiation of Obama's radical and risky socialist agenda. It's Reagan-Carter all over again.

But I'll give Obama credit for one thing- he is living proof that familiarity breeds contempt.

The Cowboy Libertarianis Patrick Dorinson

After 25 years in politics working on both sides of the aisle I have come to the realization that neither party is willing or able for that matter to do what is necessary to get this country back on track. They are more interested in playing politics than fixing what needs to be fixed.

I am done with organized political parties and am now a proud independent. To paraphrase Marx, Groucho not Karl, “I will not join any party that would have someone like me as a member.”

America faces a whole wagonload of problems but they didn’t just magically appear in the last few years.

For too long America gorged itself on more and more government ladled out by politicians eager to buy our votes and get re-elected. From welfare for the poor to corporate welfare the only bipartisan success since the New Deal has been creating a culture of entitlement that touches every sector of society.

Now the bill has come due for our overindulgence and we need to pay for it. But no politician has the guts to tell us the hard truths preferring to offer us “pain free” solutions or asking for more of our hard earned dollars.

And it’s not all about dollars and cents. We have forgotten the values and ethics that built this country. Some think those things are old fashioned and out of date. But if we don’t recapture those values and ethics all the money in the world won’t mean a thing.

In the last few years I have had the honor and privilege to know and ride alongside real cowboys and cowgirls as they do the hard work of putting food on America’s tables. They haven’t forgotten those things because they live them every day.

They have more common sense in their little finger than any blowhard politician or pundit who ever drew a breath. And there are millions of Americans from all walks of life who share the same values as the cowboys and wonder how the country they love got so off track.

But as tough as things are we need to maintain our belief in a brighter tomorrow and our ability to laugh in the face of adversity.

Republicans begin to confront poverty at the grassroots

The week the Census Bureau reported that the number of people in the United States living in poverty is at its highest level since 1993, the Republican Study Committee and Washington-based Center for Neighborhood Enterprise wrapped up their two-day Anti-Poverty Summit on Capitol Hill.

Launching an initiative focused on listening to real-world, community-based solutions to poverty, a coalition of Republican lawmakers headed by Florida Republican Rep. Steve Southerland heard from grassroots leaders who have successfully confronted the challenges of poverty in their own communities — with a message focused on the establishment of long-term relationships with those in need and a rejection of easy “handouts” without expectations.

Southerland, surrounded by about a dozen community summit participants, explained at a Thursday press conference in front of the Capitol that the purpose of the summit was to begin a process of learning what works so that when lawmakers begin crafting policy they have a better foundation to solve the problem. The Florida congressman added that Congress “doesn’t have the luxury of appropriating dollars for programs that don’t work any more.”

“The status quo isn’t necessarily working. What they are doing out on the streets working with families, working with communities is making a difference. So that is what we want to learn about, because it is about learning how to save money and ways to better use taxpayer dollar but most importantly it’s about figuring out ways we can help people,” RSC Chairman Jim Jordan added.

“Compassion without expectations equals enablement,” Jordan said, pointing out a line from the conference that had stood out to him.

Summit leader Robert Woodson, founder of the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise and a veteran of the civil rights movement, explained how he came to realize that “race alone” is not the chief barrier to betterment, but poverty and disadvantage, which led him to work on behalf of all low-income people.

“I also recognize that America is a very compassionate country, but our strategies over the last 50 years have not only not improved a lot of poor people, but in many ways have injured with a helping hand,” Woodson said, noting that traditionally the government has conducted what he called “failure studies” on the poor, in which they tally up the social ills such as dropout rates and illegitimacy, only to have well-intentioned government leaders try to fix the problem with ham-handed solutions.

“They ask not which problems are solvable, but which problems are fundable,” Woodson said.

Woodson’s center is focused on finding out how people are achieving success in their communities, so that those methods are implemented elsewhere — “if you wanted to learn to play the piano would you go to five people who failed and say ‘let me learn from your failure’? Or would you go to the one person who has mastered the instrument?” he asked.

The Center for Neighborhood Enterprise has trained over 2,500 grassroots leaders in 39 states to work in their own communities to help give people the tools to get out of poverty.

In an interview with The Daily Caller after the press conference, Woodson elaborated that there are many practical ways to restore a person in poverty.

“Conditions should be placed on any aid anyone gets, so that is a fundamental principle — and not assume that just because people have needs doesn’t mean they should be given rewards,” Woodson said. “And so that is the fundamental to what we are doing. We are also encouraging non-governmental ways to help people that increase one-on-one contact.”

Summit participant Shirley Holloway, founder and CEO of House of Help City of Hope, focused on the importance of expectations, admitting wrongdoing and accepting faith and betterment.

Holloway, who has been working with the impoverished for nearly 20 years, told TheDC that government programs like housing subsidies, food stamps and social services are not always the solution and in some cases have acted as enablers to keep people in poverty.

“It’s compassion without expectation, and when you have compassion without expectation that means you feel for a person but you’re not requiring them to do anything,” Holloway said. “In my program, I require you to get up, take care of your children, make sure they get their medical treatment. I require you to get up and plan for your life, what are you going to do in the next six months, next five months? We give them accountability, chores, taking care of your basic needs.”

“What we’ve got to understand is, the government doesn’t have the answers, the hospitals don’t have the answers, the mental institutions don’t have the answers, so what are we going to do?” she continued, explaining that when the money and temporary assistance dries up elsewhere, people go to her organization for help.

Pastor Rsen Ortiz of the ROC School of Urban Ministry stressed the importance of mentorship, consistent relationships and responsibility for at-risk young people.

Ortiz told TheDC that his students later become mentors to new entries to the program. "It is not only teaching them how to fish, but also how to get their own pond,” he said.

While a number of faith-based leaders participated in the summit, the initiative was not centered on faith, but rather a grassroots mindset to overcoming poverty.

According to the RSC, the initiative will be centered around outreach to community leaders, research, and eventually policy solutions

Why is the media so afraid of this movie?

by Gerald R. Molen (He is the Academy award winning producer of films such as "Schindler's List," "Jurassic Park," "Minority Report" and others. His film "2016: Obama's America" wasreleased in theaters on August 10 and 17.)

If you thought being one of the producers of one of the greatest anti-hate films in history, one that exposed hatred, bigotry and anti-semitism would make you immune from being labeled a hate monger, think again. "Schindlers List" left its mark on the world and did so by telling the truth about man’s inhumanity to men. Yet the slings and arrows came at me to impinge my credibility, the work of Dinesh D’Souza and to once again use hate as their passport to the dark side.

Is there anyone else out there who sometimes finds movie reviews lacking in substance and objectivity? How about a film “review” written by an online journal prior to them even viewing the film? Does that sound like the classic cart before the horse scenario? Anyone else smell something dishonest, partisan and maybe even cynical?
That kind of effort can only be suspect in its mission and intent.

I speak of an online journal writing an attack piece on my latest film, ‘2016 – Obama’s America’. It labeled the film, “Feature Length Obama Hate.” Nice. And they hadn’t even seen the film.

That kind of action has to come from pure chutzpah, ideology or just plain stupidity, you can pick.

It seems the left in America can only define something they don’t understand, something that frightens them, something so truthful it hurts or something they have no real response to that leaves them grasping for any kind of answer that comes with the hope that maybe it will just go away…and if it doesn’t, do all possible to destroy it.

That won’t happen. The film is complete, it’s scheduled for release and it stands on it’s own as a well thought out visual documentary based on two books written by author Dinesh D’Souza, “The Roots of Obama’s Rage’ and the soon to be released “Obama’s America.”

A dear friend reminded me to not take the attack(s) personally and remember what a true hero of American liberalism, Nat Hentoff, wrote in his aptly titled book, “Free Speech For Me But Not For Thee: How The American Left and Right Relentlessly Censor Each Other.” Mr. Hentoff reminds all of us that the "right" and the "left" have both made blunders in their zeal to shut down the other side. But this attempt at fairness in reviewing a new film goes the extra mile in incredulity when the review comes EVEN BEFORE the film’s release.

This effort to de-legitimize the film is nothing less than “high-tech censorship,” since the first attack was trying to impugn the motives of the filmmakers and questioning how the project was funded and by whom, all in an attempt to dissuade people from watching it.

I don’t remember anyone in the mainstream press questioning Michael Moore about his motives (he wore them on his sleeve) or where the funding came from (deep pockets of those sharing his ideology). No questions asked….

The American way has always been to present ideas and new opinions, then through reason, logic, debate and even personalities, continue to expose as many points of view as possible. It makes the country a better one and stronger one for all of us.

“2016 – Obama’s America” presents a picture of an America changed through the passion of one man and his determination to turn America into ‘just another country.’ The movie should be required viewing by all Americans. Then you can do your own homework and make up your own mind.

But there are forces out there who don’t want you to view this movie and will try desperately to keep you away from the theater by impugning the character of people like me who created the work, hoping it’ll scare you away.

That’s not the American way.

I hope you’ll ignore these voices of fear and enjoy the show. And to these true forces of hate, who would seek to bully people into not seeing a movie they themselves haven’t even seen yet, let me remind them: it’s just a movie. Right?

I'm going to try and see it. It should be interesting.

I just watched some scenes from the movie "Frost/Nixon." You don't even have to pay attention to see how the media purposely turned the American people against their President. Nixon made some mistakes, yet he did some very good things for this country. It seems that the media can only bitch, point about what it wants to nowdays, while twisting the truth and in some cases - out right lieing. They're supposed to report the facts - not twist them. Be careful what you believe, nowdays you have to just about research everything.

The "Birth Certificate' Investigation

A review of articles on the internet continue to show that this issue continues to be ignored. WHY? Are we or Congress afraid that a serious mistake has been made. Bad news doesn't get better with time. How about taking some action Mr. Congressman or Mrs./Ms. Congresswoman? The American poeple deserve to know the truth!

Just based upon the fact that Obama's father was a British Citizen should be more than enough to drive the whole point home. How about following the Republic of the United States of America's Constitution for a change!

Federal vs. Local Control

The original plan for this country was a federal, not Federalist, plan. It emphasized local government as the most important government for the individual. That plan took a slight detour with the Declaration and the Constitution, both of which included populist language (as if the national government could or should interface directly with “the people”), but, in effect, civil government even then was generally decentralized —local.

What did this mean? It meant you were free. If local officials became tyrants, you could either fight locally to have them removed or move to the next county or township. Finding a place where you could do pretty much whatever you thought was right was not terribly hard in a federal system.

One of the most important features of federalism is that it allows disagreement without discord. You don’t like what the majority of your neighbors believes? Move. Move somewhere that better fits your ideas on life, the universe, and everything. In a federal system, this doesn’t mean moving to another country, though. In most cases, the move is a matter of a few miles.

This is why the United States has been so diverse ethnically, religiously, etc. Different communities could develop and choose for themselves how they would like to be ruled. This means that no one’s ideas were crammed down anyone’s throat, and everybody was a lot closer to living in harmony (even if they disagreed on most everything.)

Along the line somewhere, we completely abandoned this system. Now, the most important law of the land is national law. If you don’t like it, I guess you can move to another country (but good luck finding one that’s any better than this one). An elite handful of career politicians make laws for everyone. They are too distant to be held accountable by local forces or to know your specific needs and circumstances, so national law is generally ungainly, unjust, and expensive. And it is applied to you and your family whether you like it or not.

And the country suffers severely. Do you really think there would be anywhere near the same level of divisiveness and dissension in this country if it didn’t really matter what your opponents believed? We might think that EU policies are crazy, but do we spend hours going toe-to-toe with Europeans criticizing their socialist failures and typing heated rants in all-caps? No. Why? Because their policies have only an indirect and nominal effect on us. We don’t have to live under that government, so most of us feel they are free to make their own stupid mistakes. Now, it’s another thing entirely when Europe tries to force us to do something through the UN. Then you see some people up in arms (Agenda 21, anyone?). But in a federal system, different jurisdictions operate similarly to different nation-states—independent and sovereign. And that ensures that the maximum number of people are accurately represented at the level of government that matters most to their daily lives.

But now we live under a national government that dictates to the local governments what they will and will not do and even taxes individuals directly, so we are very motivated to make sure that our opinion is the one represented at the top. It shouldn’t be this way. If we lived in a truly free country, no one’s opinion would be reflected at the top. The only opinion at the top would be, “We’re gonna leave you alone to figure that out. We’ll protect you from violent enemies so you can.”

And it used to be that way. Get involved at your local level in government and start fighting the real problem—centralized government. The problem is not Democratic centralized government or Republican centralized government… it’s centralized government itself, no matter its policies. If we live under a tyranny, it matters very little whose policies are being tyrannically enforced. The ideal is liberty, and we need to be fighting to get back to it.

The President Has No Plan

Obama touts a budget that received ZERO (0) votes in both chambers of Congress.

President Barack Obama pledged during his speech at the Democratic National Convention that he would tell the American people hard truths. "I won't pretend the path I'm offering is quick or easy," Obama said. "I never have. You didn't elect me to tell you what you wanted to hear. You elected me to tell you the truth. And the truth is, it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades."

The truth is Obama used his speech to attack the budget Paul Ryan authored without offering a real alternative to avert the looming debt crisis. "You can choose a future where we reduce our deficit without sticking it to the middle class," Obama said. "Independent experts say that my plan would cut our deficits by $4 trillion." The plan that Obama's talking about is designed to reduce deficits by $1.7 trillion, not $4 trillion. It was defeated 97-0 in the Senate and 414-0 in the House of Representatives. It's a plan that, even if it were to pass miraculously, is "unsustainable" in the long-term, as Obama's own Treasury secretary has acknowledged. It's a plan that doesn't have the support of anybody but Obama, which is to say it's really not a plan at all.

During his speech, Obama attacked Medicare reform, but in four years as president he hasn't proposed his own plan to save it. Obama also touted his tax plan: "I want to reform the tax code so that it's simple, fair, and asks the wealthiest households to pay higher taxes on incomes over $250,000, the same rate we had when Bill Clinton was president." But this is the plan Obama ran on four years ago. Why didn't he push it through when Democrats had a huge-majority in the House and a super-majority in the Senate?

Obama's DNC speech was the last chance of his campaign to propose new policy ideas or reframe the debate. But he didn't do that. He simply served up a four-year-old campaign pledge to raise taxes on the wealthy, an empty promise to reduce the deficit, and plenty of snarky and demagogic attacks on his opponents.

Minorities are Window Dressing for the Democrats‏

Los Angeles Democrat Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa accused Republicans of using Hispanic speakers during their convention as “window dressing.”

Liberals are all about window dressing. Once you get inside the store, the shelves are bare or stocked with worn out political clichés and empty promises. This is especially true when it comes to minorities. Liberals have taken away the “Colored” signs from water fountains and bathrooms, but they still won’t let them into their living room unless they can control their movements. The only ones that get to sit down are those who do the bidding of the host.

Liberals work hard to get minorities to the polls to vote so the liberal establishment can stay in power, but Liberals are reluctant to give minorities enough power to govern themselves. If the word gets out that a minority can be independent of government, then it might get back to other “brown skin” people that they can do it too. When this happens, the Democrat Party is finished.

There are a number of articles floating around on the Internet about how few black and brown faces there were among the Republican delegates. Michelle Malkin, something of a brown face herself, tweeted the following:

SHAME SHAME SHAME on all you racist progs playing the #negrospotting (@twitter) game. Dear God, you people are sick.

 

Of course there aren’t that many black Republican delegates; they’re mostly liberal Democrat field hands that do the bidding of their Democrat masters. Every two years, Democrats rent a cadre of black- and brown-face voters for an election telling them that their only hope is to vote for them, and they do it, even though most Hispanics and Blacks have more in common with Republican principles.

 

Colby King, a columnist for the Washington Post, said Republicans “always have African-Americans on the [convention] podium. Either it’s somebody singing ‘God Bless America,’ or praying, you know, before or after.” Let’s put this claim of the Pulitzer-Prize winning “journalist” to the test:

- Mia Love (mayor and candidate for US House from Utah)

- Artur Davis (former US Congressman from Alabama)

- Jane Edmonds (served in Romney’s Massachusetts cabinet)

- Luis Fortuno (Governor of Puerto Rico)

- Luce Vela Fortuno (First Lady of Puerto Rico)

- Condoleezza Rice (former Secretary of State)

- Ted Cruz (candidate for US Senate from Texas)

- Nikki Haley (governor of South Carolina)

- Brian Sandoval (governor of Nevada)

- Sher Valenzuela (candidate for Lt. Gov. of Delaware)

- Marco Rubio (US Senator from Florida)

By the way, the Republicans had a white guy pray at the end of the convention, the same white guy who’s going to pray at the Democrat National Convention — Roman Catholic Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan of New York who I hope will denounce the DNC’s platform for supporting abortion on demand and homosexual marriage, two issues that most brown- and black-faced people abhor.

An alternative to Democrats' moral bankruptcy

Maybe Democrats have some slick salesmen, like Bill Clinton and our current president, who can sell you swampland and have you convinced that you've bought choice beachfront property.

But the omission of any mention of God and recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital from the Democratic Party platform, which were in it in 2008, and then the almost-failed attempt to add them after the fact, showed the clear truth about the 2012 Democratic Party.

It took three boisterous floor votes to add these principles to the platform. Listening to the ayes and nays on the third vote, it is questionable that they actually got the two-thirds that were needed.

The omission of these key principles from the Democratic platform was the party equivalent of what journalist Michael Kinsley calls a political gaffe -- when a politician inadvertently says what he really believes.

Democratic Party operatives panicked when they realized that the platform, as initially drafted, showed today's Democrats exactly for who they are: the home base for the nihilism, radical moral relativism and welfare statism that define today's far left.
But the Democrats are the party of the entertainment industry. They know how to create fiction and appeal to fantasies.

So the party of the radical left brands Republicans as extremists.

The United States is still a religious nation.

According to a 2010 Gallup poll, 43 percent of Americans attend church regularly. However, just 39 percent of Democrats and 27 percent of liberals do.

The alignment of the culture of the Democratic Party with that of bankrupt European welfare states provides a powerful hint where they are taking this country.

In a Pew Research Center survey last year, 50 percent of Americans said religion is "very important," compared to 22 percent in Spain, 21 percent in Germany, 17 percent in Great Britain and 13 percent in France.

Of the 50 percent of Americans who said religion is very important, 67 percent were conservative and 29 percent liberal.

Regarding Israel, in a Gallup poll done this year, 61 percent of all Americans -- 78 percent of Republicans and 56 percent of Democrats -- said their sympathies lie with the Israelis rather than the Palestinians.

Back in 1965, when President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law, 30 percent of federal spending consisted of payments to individuals. Today it's almost 70 percent.

In 1965, 24 percent of black babies and 3 percent of white babies were born to unwed mothers. Today 73 percent of black babies and 29 percent of white babies are born out of wedlock. More than half of births today to women under 30 are outside of marriage.
Unfunded liabilities of Medicare, plus those of Social Security, are $63 trillion, according to their trustees' latest report. But underlying the fiscal bankruptcy is a moral bankruptcy.

But you wouldn't know it, listening to La-La Land Democratic liberals.

Not only are we killing the goose that lays the eggs, but with 50 percent of Americans now living in a household getting government benefits, we're losing perspective that you even need a goose to get eggs.

God-fearing, family- and church-centered American values created the American prosperity that opened the door to entitlement programs.

Now Democrats brand those traditional American values as cruel and "on your own."
If you think debt, government dependence, broken families and moral relativism form the path to a strong and prosperous America, sign on with the Democrats.

But Republicans need to do a better job embracing and articulating the alternative.
Republicans need to step up to the plate and start talking about our nation's real crisis -- our moral crisis. The nation's searching middle class will understand the truth when they hear it.

But they need to hear it.

ThoughtsjustoffCenter: Why is it that the minority, not minorities, continue to send this country on a wrong path. The silent majority needs to stand up and be counted. At the same time, it needs to tell the minority, not minorities, to sit the heck down and be quite or leave - as we are trying to do something here, like give everyone an oppourtunity to excell. All they have to do is follow the rules and try! This country was founded on "Christian Ideals." We have corrected our mistakes as we have grown. Why does the left continue to bring up slavery - we didn't start it, but yes we became invovled in it. Yet we stopped it and continue to move past our past mistakes. It time everyone else does too. After all, we are supposed to give everyone a second chance and move forward - not constantly bringing up the past! Isn't that what you Mother and Father taught you? Get out there and be somebody! Stop begging and start doing!
