The 8 ½ percent unemployment rate reported today by the U.S. Labor Department is “fraudulent” and misleads Americans into believing the economy is on the mend, Rush Limbaugh said this (yesterday) afternoon on his radio show.
“There’s nothing worth celebrating in this, is my point, and yet, we are being told that it’s party time,” Limbaugh said. “Since when do we celebrate millions of unemployed people?”
The conservative talker said the jobless rate “is still higher than when [President Barack] Obama took office,” and its heralding by the media is “offensive.”
“This assumes that we accept the notion of a systemically high unemployment level,” he said. “The new normal. This is it.”
Limbaugh said the 8 ½ percent rate is not progress, as the administration maintains.
“Five trillion dollars in deficit later, we have an 8 ½ percent unemployment rate,” he said. “That’s it?”
Lack of economic growth is the problem, Limbaugh said.
“The Obama plan [is to] shrink the workforce, expand the welfare state, and then claim economic progress,” he said. “Then, slash the military, take that money, and subsidize public-sector employees who vote reliably Democrat.
That’s the plan in a nutshell, and that’s where we are.”

Obama Recovery Worse than the Bush Recession
New evidence suggests there’s a reason why this economic “recovery” hasn’t felt much like a recovery. Figures from the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey, compiled by Sentier Research, show that the “recovery” has actually been harder on most Americans than the recession from which they’ve allegedly been recovering.
According to Sentier’s report, the median American household income has actually fallen during the “recovery.” Not only that, but it has fallen even more than it did during the recession. Gordon Green, former chief of the Governments Division at the U.S. Census Bureau and co-author of the report (with fellow Census veteran John Coder), says, “Real income fell by 3.2 percent during [the recession]. And during the recovery it went down by 6.7 percent.” So “income [has] declined twice as much in the recovery as in the recession itself.”

Then why are there 2-million less jobs available than when the "O" took office in January 2009? If the employment rate has dropped, at all, then it is due to statistical manipulation. Yet, most can't see it because they couldn't understand High School math or received "D's and F's" in the subject. They also don't remember how to read a graph, if they were taught/paid attention at all. Last I checked (last month) the true figure was over 16 percent.

Unemployment Rate
According to former U.S. Labor Secretary, Robert Reich, employment needs to grow by at least 90,000 a month just to keep up with the growth of the population. But, since the fall of 2008, the civilian labor force has actually shrunk from 154.7 million to 153.8 million, a contraction of about 900,000.
They are fudging the numbers.
Adding the 900,000 contraction to the expected growth, the total civilian labor force should be 4.14 million larger than is being counted, at about 157.94 million by now. And the unemployed should be about that much more larger, since if they could be counted as working, BLS would most certainly be counting them.
So, the amount of unemployed should really be measured at about 17.443 million, instead of 13.303 million, or a rate of 11.04 percent instead of 8.6 percent. And the underemployed rate should be about 17.8 percent instead of 15.6 percent, with 28.145 million people looking for full-time work that cannot find it.
Thoughtsjustoffcenter: Heck YES, they're fudging the numbers - I call it outright LIEING! When are people going to WAKE UP! If you look at the actual number from the Department of Labor, you'll find the hidden number of 16.4 percent. Yup, it's there, you've just got to look for it in Table A-15. What's that saying? "Number can lie, just like a Statistician," or what the District Attorney once told us (El Paso, TX): I can get a Peanut Butter sandwich indicted, the problem is, can I make it stick." So watch those numbers!
