Nope, I don't need no stinking ID

You can't have a debate with someone if you are debating one thing and they are debating something else. Such is the tactics of the Left when it comes to all things, but in particular, the Voter ID issue.

Reasonable people believe that since you have to have an ID to purchase medication, drive a car, write checks, buy a house and do thousands of other common things,...that mandating that people who vote in elections should be required to have a picture identification is a reasonable requirements and one that will help protect the voting process against fraud. Especially since voter fraud continue to become a large problem in this country. Reports of some counties with 10,767 votes for a Democrat in a county with a total population of 8,143 are rampant.

Reasonable people argue that an ID is practical and non-invasive. Democrats however argue that this is a racist mandate designed to keep the poor black, hispanic folk and people on welfare down and eliminate their voting rights. And I thought you had to have a ID to cash welfare checks. Plus, who say's black and hispanic's are pre-diposed not to have ID? Many states are making a State ID very easy and cheap (if not free) to faciliate the integrity of the voting process.

ThoughtsjustoffCenter: What? An ID? What's that? Here's my credit card. I took this posting from my friend and brother at "Cowboys & Tea Parties."

Romney – Rubio

WOW! Doesn’t anyone care that this “Presidential Ticket” will violate the Constitution? What that heck is happening here – now the Repubs want to do it too. It’s all a game of looking good, hell why follow the laws – just like Obama they can ignore them too? Read the “The Constitution of the United States of America.” Most of you think this is a democracy. IT’S NOT! IT’S A REPUBLIC! As citizens, do your jobs follow our basic document and get out there and VOTE! Or down the tubes we will continue to go!

Scientists Denounce NASA’s ‘Unproven Remarks’ on Global Warming

Fifty top scientists, astronauts, and engineers who have worked for NASA are attacking the space agency’s stance that manmade carbon dioxide is responsible for global climate change.

Seven Apollo astronauts and the deputy director of the space shuttle program are among the experts — with more than 1,000 years of combined professional experience — who have signed a letter to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.

The letter begins: “We, the undersigned, respectfully request that NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) refrain from including unproven remarks in public releases and websites. We believe the claims by NASA and GISS that manmade carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated, especially when considering thousands of years of empirical data.

“With hundreds of well-known climate scientists and tens of thousands of other scientists publicly declaring their disbelief in the catastrophic forecasts, coming particularly from the GISS leadership, it is clear that the science is NOT settled.

“The unbridled advocacy of CO2 being the major cause of climate change is unbecoming of NASA’s history of making an objective assessment of all available scientific data prior to making decisions or public statements.”

The signees charge NASA with advocating an “extreme position” on climate change “prior to a thorough study of the possible overwhelming impact of natural climate drivers.”

They conclude: “At risk is damage to the exemplary reputation of NASA, NASA’s current or former scientists and employees, and even the reputation of science itself.”

ThoughtsjustoffCenter: There are many contaminates in the air. Just look at smog. That's being blamed on "man-made CO2" also. Yet, what is the make up of those smog lines that are over the major cities of the world? So do some research, be cause I'm not going to say I'm not going to tell you today. Let's see if you can find the imperical data. Lastly, why do the articles that are found, ever say who the people are that are making these statements. Should the names be attached for truthfulness?

Global Warming in a Nutshell by Dr. Adrian Vance

CO2 is a trace gas in air. It is insignificant by definition. Water vapor molecules absorb heat energy, or infrared, from sunlight seven times as well as CO2. (See Absorption Spectra) Water vapor is responsible for 99.8% of all atmospheric heating.

There are 80 times as many water molecules as CO2 and each absorbs seven times as much energy as each CO2. To blame CO2
for "global warming" is ridiculous. It is done only by corrupt, ignorant or sloppy scholars in whitecoats whose Ph.D.s should be rescinded for crimes against science.

NASA has been spending $4 billion dollars a year to study the atmosphere since James Hansen made his famous presentation to a committee of Congress on a very hot 1982 August day. Eleven years before that he had been trying to sell them on a coming ice age and that they should be taxing carbon as carbon particulate matter was shading Earth from sunlight. Congress didn't bite the first time, but they saluted the Hansen flag in 1982 and the world has not been same since as politicians caught on that this would give them more power than that changing hands with the Magna Carta or the Guillotine. Jim Hansen is responsible for the wasting of over $104 billion of taxpayer's money and he wants more!

The Hansen gang of 50 Ph.D. scientists at the Goddard Space Institute on the campus of Columbia University in New York City is playing the oldest game in academia. They write papers and put each other's names on them in order to balloon published output. If each writes one paper and shares credit with 49 others each can claim to have authored 50 papers. They run in journals with circulations of a few hundred, substantially less than that put out by any American high school newspaper, which will be of greater scholarship and worth, but not cost four billion dollars per year. And, these people have the gall to claim "Global warming deniers are paid off by oil companies telling lies!"

When the textbook publishers saw this coming they realized it would generate a whole new set of "corrected" text books so they gleefully put textbook writing committees together and what is now taught for science in our schools does not pass the smell test. And, where the teacher's unions will not allow schools to pay more for trained science teachers, who can make three to four times in industry what the schools can pay, the result is a Dark Age in science teaching. Little if any science is actually taught in our high schools when 50 years ago it was seen as a "national emergency" in view of Sputnick. This does not bode well for America.

OK - I'm NOT done.

I apologize.

Maybe I just needed a break from the daily minutia, because I miss talking to whomever is listening / reading. So, I will settle in - periodically - an make a comment or two.

Please forgive me for being selfish.

You'll still have to put up with my misspelling and deslixic fingers.
