Right and Left

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome becomes bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." - - Cicero, 55 BC (Thanks to Cowboys and Tea Parties blog)

I believe the majority of our national leadership and citizenship has forgotten what they learned in school. As I pause and think about the House of Representatives and the Tea Party emphasis on a Balanced Budget Agreement/adding an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, I’ve given thought to both sides of the issue. Here are the reasons –
-     The Constitution of the United States of America, Article. I., Section 8.  The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence (Defense) and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;…
-     This is probably the first time in U.S. history that we have had a congress (both Democratic and Republican Parties) that has gotten totally out of control with spending on every darn thing they could possibly think of – and then some more. And President’s (Bush II and Obama) that went along with them. (BTW – A lot of these individuals are the end of the “Greatest Generation” and the beginning of the “Baby Boomer” generation – 1945 to 1952. Take a look at their ages – They’re the twits from the 60’s that never grew up. And Obama is from the free love and everything of the 70's.)

-    I think they are starting to come to their senses, THANKS very much to the Tea Party movement.

I hope they have realized that going way left (towards Marxism and Socialism) is the wrong way to go, just as is going way right (with anarchaist movement).

I firmly believe that there are many good ideas from both sides of the issue. Yet I have one true belief for this issue. Just as I keep my debt limit under control, the U.S. Congress is responsible for doing the same for our nation. There will be times, in extreme instances, where the U.S. must carry a debt. The only extreme instance that I believe in is for the (our) common defense. Other than for that, we should not be carrying any debt as a nation.
Now, we need to vote out those individuals that believe in Socialism, Marxism, and anarchaists’.

We need to come together and give each other a “kick in the pants”, a “pat on the back”, or a “hand up.” After that, if there is no known reason for an individual to need assistance, then they won’t receive it, at least not from the government. It’s called, “Tough Love.” Something the left and the right both believe in.

So let’s get to it and make our Representative and Senators to the right things and give America the “tough love” she so desperately needs.
